All entrants participate entirely at their own risk and agree that they shall have no claim whatsoever against the organising body, sponsors, helpers or support services in the event of any injury loss or damage that a participant may suffer personally or to property, caused directly or indirectly by negligence, accidental or otherwise by anyone of the abovementioned parties or any third party not associated with the race itself.
Age categories might be merged for prize giving purposes in the event that there is insufficient riders in that particular age category. We apply the XCO race rules as per the most recent CSA mountain biking regulations.
An event may be cancelled at short notice in the event of extreme weather conditions or safety hazards. We will not be able to refund entry fees.
The Madibaz MTB XCO Series is CSA sanctioned. Riders should have the required CSA Licence (as per CSA regulations). Riders without the licence will be able to buy a temporary CSA licence (cost R45) on race day from CSA representatives if they are present at the event.
Log points will be based on each riders best three (of the four events) results. To encourage attendance riders will be awarded additional bonus log points for each event they enter and finish. The bonus log points will be added to the normal series log points for a final score determining the Madibaz MTB XCO Champions. Seeding will be based on series log points + bonus log points. The top three riders per age category per event will receive a medal. Prizes will be awarded at the 4th event based on an individual rider’s performance which will include the series log points + bonus point results. Log points for Eden colours will only be calculated from the rider’s position attained in a race and awarded according to CSA mountain biking regulations.
